Save Money By Doing It Yourself
56Save Money By Doing It Yourself
In our economy, everyone is fighting just to keep their heads above water. Even with the things that Obamma has done to improve our economy, have barely kept this country's recession from turning into a depression. One way to make things go a little easier is to start making things for yourself instead of buying them. I'm one of those thousands of lucky people who had to close their business because of the economy, but I'm learning how to get by making things for myself. and searching for freebies. Luckily, I've been working as an art teacher for years, so I know how to make a lot of stuff already. If you're in the same boat as I am, this site will help you start saving money.
Make Gifts With Your Computer
If you are good with the computer, download GIMP, it's a free software similar to Adobe Photoshop or Corel Paint. You can use it to create images for cards, pictures or t-shirts. If you make t-shirts, go to Big Lots or a discount store to buy the image transfers, you can usually get them in a pack of 10 for a dollar or two. Buy a cheap pack of t-shirts from the same place, create your image, iron it on and your done.
Saving Money On Food
If you cook your food at home, you tend to save a lot of money. For instance, if you go out for one dinner for four at an italian restaurant like Olive Garden or Fazoli's , you average spending anywhere from $7 to $15 per person for lasagna or spaghetti. If you make the same dinner at home, you can buy the stuff to make dinner for the whole family with leftovers for about $10 - $15 dollars or less if you can find the right coupons. When you get bored with eating in, try using the free restaurant coupons that will be delivered directly to your email. Sign up everyone in your household, get your coupons and enjoy. My husband and I ate at several restaurants totally free. It was great.
I've placed two links under this section.
The first link is to for you to get free recipes with everything from Paula Deen styled southern food to home made Mexican food.
The second link is for free coupons for restaurants and stores.
